"One of the best CMS available currently."
What do you like best about Sanity?

One of the best things of sanity is the documentation, it is simply the best. I used it for my Next JS project, there was hardly any difficulty I faced to integrate it, because it pretty did everything on its own, which was great. Also the plans they are offering blows my mind, because no other org is so generous for their customers even for the free plan. Looking forward to use it in my further projects as well.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I don't think there is anything that I disliked about the product, I was very happy with the final product.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

The embedded studio functionality is simply the best.

"Sanity experience was out of the this world. Never thought something like it existed."
What do you like best about Sanity?

So far so good; the CMS part solved millions of my problems. I was able to integrate to my app which was based on Sonny Sangha youtube tutorial. I was watching the tutorial one 11 months after upload but I was still able to integrate. The realtime functionality is also amazing

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Just that there's no much documentation about it or rather presence in the developer communities.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has created a very smooth admin platform, and therefore I as a developer I need to only focus on the users. Saves so much time when developing a product. Time is money.

I have used other cms too but sanity is best

What do you dislike about Sanity?

We can't use tailwind for customisation in sanity.studio subdomain

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We can edit content on website with revalidation instead of changing the code and redeploying it

"Good experience ... with some help"
What do you like best about Sanity?

I was able to create, integrate and deploy a Sanity - Next.js application in under 24 hours. The Personal Website tutorial was very helpful, The documentation on the types was well laid out.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The need to revalidate was not discussed in the tutorials. This is more to do with properly setting up ISR in Next.js, I had to figure this out on my own.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having a single admin portal for Shopify, CMS, and MUX. I was struggling finding a solution for a client, but this seems to do the trick for me. I still have some MUX learning to do, so time will tell.

"Sanity is a powerful CMS"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity as a CMS has been really helpful to integrate it with my projects. The rendering time is very fast to fetch data from sanity. The user experience of sanity 's platform is also worth having.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I am exploring sanity. One thing I would say is that we've to go to sanity studio link to publish our content. It would be good if sanity provide any pre made form to ad in website for some users like admin

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We can place all our content that doesn't require any analytics and these products are just content for our website. So, sanity will handle our content management.

"Very impressive platform - I can't believe I've not been using it until now!"
What do you like best about Sanity?

I love the way I can just forget about managing the database, that I can easily connect to my project on my localhost and the ability to snapshot the data.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I'm coming from a perspective of managing and hosting databases, so being hands-off is out of my comfortzone.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sanity it incredibly easy to get a new project off the ground quickly. Great to experiment with features, tear them down and trying something new.

"Unbeatable developer experience and a great community"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Having a content schema as code makes so much sense. You can version control it, make your own starter kits and easily create custom input components. But the hard parts — like data management and scaling — are taken care of for you, so it's the perfect balance of full customizability and speed of development. The community around Sanity is also really good, especially the Slack space and Youtube virtual meetups.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The data attribute limit is something you always need to be mindful of when modelling your content. Also, if using Typescript for your studio code, it can be hard to find documentation and guides about how to use it, although Typescript support is quite recent with V3 so I expect this will improve in time.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sanity is perfect for creating marketing websites that work well for both developers and content creators. In our organisation, it is a tool developers love to use, and its flexibility allows you to tailor the editing experience to your content team's needs.

"Great experience with customisable headless CMS"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Customisation is the real power. Everything can be personalized to the business needs.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I couldn't find a way to reference objects inside Arrays

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use it as a headless CMS to couple with Gatsbyjs. So far it's been great.

"Very powerful and highly customizable headless CMS"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity has really nailed what a headless/composable CMS should be. It gives us all the features we could imagine wanting from our content layer, without ever getting in our way. The fact that the Studio can be embedded into our own Next.js application and customized at will using React opens up a world of opportunities to use this not only as a replacement for our old CMS (WordPress) but for all kinds of other content workflows we haven't even imagined yet. They're working hard to stay up-to-date with the latest features in Next.js with guides for using live previews in the App Router just landing, as well as the ability to use fetch which enables Next.js' cache features.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The docs and APIs can be a bit lacking when it comes to customization and we have already, on our first project, ended up having to do some hacky custom solutions to customize the Desk tool due to lack of options and APIs we require (for example, there's no way to set a default configuration of panes to always be open in the Editor). The pane-based structure can be confusing for non-technical users with the way that you may end up for example with two different preview panes open. There's also always one Publish button per pane which is also just confusing. This was another thing we had to do a messy hack to fix for our use cases (where we wanted a more Storyblok-like experience for our editors).

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have been looking for a headless CMS to replace WordPress for all of our agency's clients. It will allow us to stop worrying about managing servers and keeping WordPress up-to-date, and instead let us focus all development in one layer; Next.js. The fact that we can embed the Studio and host it on our own is a game changer. The CDN and Images workflow has finally given us a sensible workflow for responsive images. The Preview mode will save us unimaginable amounts of support hours since our customers can now just see what's going on.

"Using sanity from v2 to v3"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity.io's infrastructure, based on JavaScript and React, seamlessly aligns with the Next.js environment, minimizing the learning curve and facilitating a familiar development experience. The scalability of the platform is remarkable, catering to the needs of both small-scale projects and large enterprise systems equally well.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

For straightforward tasks, GROQ can feel overly verbose and complicated, and while it can handle complex, nested data structures, it can get unwieldy for larger data sets. So while it does offer power and flexibility, I've often found it more of a challenge than a convenience in my workflow.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sanity allows me to define your own content types and structures with schemas in javascript. This lends me great flexability unlike a lot of other out of the box cms. This leads to better organization of my content and more efficient development workflows.

"Simply one of the best for content management"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Ease of use especially for someone using react and the flexibility to use in multiple platforms with little or no effort.c

What do you dislike about Sanity?

you need to learn GROQ to be able to be productive. Setting up the assets is tedious as it depends on knowledge of GROQ.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It addresses all my content requirements in seamless way. I'm planning to build my entire learning platform using Sanity.

"The best, most flexible and easy to use Headless CMS out there."
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity has a gorgeous embedded studio which fits in perfectly with any NextJS project.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The only drawback is the limited amount of free tokens you get.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

For me, as a frontend developed I use it as a temporary backend solution.

"Robust solution, easy to get started"
What do you like best about Sanity?

What do I like about Sanity? Easy to get started with a well-documented query language, worry-free data storage, and you can manage your structure via code so you can track changes with Git. Best of both worlds if you're looking to host your own app, but aren't interested in hosting the database or the CMS.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

It might be nice to have an easier way to migrate data between projects, like staging vs. production. It is doable, but it's not as easy as the initial setup.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main project I've used sanity on is essentially an online technical user manual. It's a basic web app, but I needed a nice editing experience for my client and was looking for something that would keep overhead low on that piece so I could focus attention on the front-end experience. Sanity was perfect for this.

"A one-stop shop for all of your CMS needs"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity provides a platform that can provide a fully custom UI with unique validation requirements to suit our client's needs and provides both a GraphQL API and a JS SDK to fetch this data. What more can you ask for?

What do you dislike about Sanity?

One minor annoyance would be working alongside other devs on the same data fields. If there was some way to do this without having a dataset per developer, that would be wonderful.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sanity really removes the painpoint of trying to manage data in a CMS. Compared to other CMS', it is much easier to use for everyone on the team, and our lcients.

"Amazing developer experience and an unparalleled level of customization."
What do you like best about Sanity?

The ease of customization of your schema. Plus I really love how easy it is to query the data using GROQ. It makes my work as a developer so much easier. Another great thing is the level of extensibility of the studio through the use of plugins. Thanks to the vision plugin I can test out any query before actually using it in my production applications.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

One of the downsides of it is that it's not really easy to implement singleton documents without having to write a tailor made plugin just for that. It would be great if Sanity let you specify that a document should be treated as a singleton directly when defining the schema for it. Another negative is that there is no way of translating the studio UI. I have commented on the open issue on github about a year ago, and despite it being the most commented on issue it hasn't seen any progress since its opening four years ago.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sanity is taking away most, if not all, of the complexity associated with managing content for a website. I have used it for my personal website as the source of most of the data present on it and for client websites as well.

"One of the best developer experiences I had"
What do you like best about Sanity?

It's rare to see such effort put into supporting the latest technologies and tools. With extensive documentation for each, I could find exactly what I needed for my toolset and use sanity effectively from day one, thanks to documentation. Providing hosting for Sanity Studio was also a big plus.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

To put it shortly, you will be a victim of vendor lock-in. You will need to carefully consider your use case and predict what will happen at scale. Will it be worth the cost for the tools that Sanity provides?

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We wanted an easy way to record hand-picked links and their website's metadata. Sanity was perfect for being able to record, change, review, and publish these bits of content for later user-facing applications

"Fantastic CMS + Developer Experience"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity is fantastic on all nearly all fronts. From developer experience to end-user use, I find everyone on my team as well as our clients to be very satisfied.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I love that the Sanity team iterates so quickly and that they're constantly improving their product. That being said, I feel like developer documentation lags behind and it's often not easy to find solid documentation on new things.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Image optimization pipeline, content management, webhooks, CMS customizability. I don't often find myself too frustrated with any limitations of Sanity per-se. Rather, a lot of the shortcomings or lost time comes from lack of documentation on new features and APIs.

"Insanely Composed Composition"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Our newsletter content is our product. So the content development process itself has to be pretty slick. We explored other options and considered building, but what for? Sanity does all the heavy lifting for you enabling a rich content schema, deep relationships, and editor customization to the max. Their well thunk Next.js templates made it super simple for us to get started and their community eco-system is robust.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Honestly, not much. I think they should consider making it easier to migrate to Sanity from other tools, to reduce the developer dependencies. But their CLI makes the current process rather smooth.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our content schema is our database. It allows us to create once and publish everywhere. We can customize the Studio to our exact workflow and ensure an optimal content development experience for our writers/editors.
