Sales reps need to be able to juggle a lot of information—especially on high-velocity teams where they’re dealing with 400+ leads per month. How do they manage?
By using a reliable sales CRM to help them manage the work better.
One of the more popular CRM options out there is Pipedrive—but does it live up to the hype? In this Findstack review, we’re taking a deep dive to answer that very question.
Pipedrive describes itself as “the first CRM designed by salespeople, for salespeople”.
While it probably isn’t the first, the rest is true—it’s a CRM specifically designed to fit a sales team’s unique needs and processes. The software is designed to help teams better manage their sales pipelines, making it easier to track leads and opportunities, manage customers, and automate busywork—all in one place.
Getting started with Pipedrive is a super easy process. Before diving into the tool’s actual features, there are only really three things you need to do:
Once you’ve completed these three steps, it’s time to start exploring the platform.
Pipelines and deals are Pipedrive’s (and every other sales CRM’s) bread and butter. They’re visual representations of your sales process, including stages, deal flow, and the status of your current deals.
In Pipedrive, pipelines are completely customizable. You can easily add new stages to the pipeline and adjust the order of stages by dragging and dropping—just click “Edit Pipeline” in the upper right-hand corner.
You can also easily add new deals and view existing ones from the pipeline view. The option to review every deal’s details is especially useful and accessible simply by clicking on it in the pipeline. This includes:
You also have the option to define custom fields for your deals. These can either be marked optional or required—perfect for helping your sales team prioritize key pieces of information in their talks. The “Deals” tab is also where your team will write notes, schedule sales activities, and track availability.
Pipedrive’s communication tracking features are great.
For starters, the underlying organizational system is super intuitive—contacts are organized by dividing them into “people” and “organizations”. You can then link these to the deals they’re associated with and easily check your history of calls, emails, and activities with any of your contacts or deals.
Pipedrive’s email inbox is sales-focused and super intuitive, too. It has a ton of features that speed up the process of managing and sending emails, including:
There’s also Scheduler—a feature that helps you set up meetings without annoying back-and-forths by sharing your availability and letting invitees book time slots that work for them. You can also automatically set up video calls for scheduled time slots on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
Last, but (definitely) not least, Pipedrive integrates with a ton of great phone tools, so you can place calls from within the platform. This makes it easy to track your activity, record data, and even automate certain call-related processes—but more on automation in a moment.
One of Pipedrive’s main selling points is its automation features. There are quite a few to unpack here, but there are two main types:
Sales automations are features designed to help you optimize your business’ sales process. Take Sales Assistant, for example—this automation tool creates custom behavior-based cards with performance tips, notifications, and progress updates for each team member on your roster. It also notifies everyone affected by changes to settings and deals, so no one’s left wondering where their recent deals went.
Smart Contact Data is another sales automation tool that pulls in data from sources like LinkedIn, Google, and Twitter to help you get a better understanding of your contacts.
On the workflow side, Pipedrive’s Automations let you create custom actions and processes that are triggered automatically when a certain action is taken (e.g., when a deal changes pipeline stage). These are great for cutting down on admin work and freeing up your team to focus on bigger and better things (like actually closing deals).
Finally, it’s time to talk about Pipedrive’s reporting features.
Starting with the basics, Pipedrive’s sales reports are totally customizable. You can track whatever data points you need, and cut out the ones you’re not s interested in. Plus, there are a few pre-built reports you can use, including:
Pipedrive’s Insights dashboard is great, too—you can turn all your data and metrics into beautiful, interactive charts and graphs that are easy to read (and share).
If you want to set goals for your team, Pipedrive has you covered there, too. You can create goals based on deals or activities, and specify them by adding key details like assignees, types, pipelines, durations, and intervals.
Oh, and if you’re looking for even more customization, Pipedrive has an open API. That means you’re free to build custom integrations that meet even the most specific of reporting requirements.
Pipedrive is one of a select-few CRMs that genuinely feels like it’s saving you time. Its automation features and intuitive interface make it easier to manage contacts, deals, emails, calls, and activities—all without having to manually enter every single piece of data.
It always helps to see information presented visually—and that just so happens to be an area where Pipedrive excels. From the visual pipeline to the Insights dashboard and interactive reports, Pipedrive is packed with features that make it easier to interpret your data.
Pipedrive’s Marketplace is massive. At the time of writing, there are more than 300 integrations available. Plus, the listed tools range from video calling platforms to lead generation tools, so you’re sure to find something that fits your needs.
Pipedrive has four paid plans that you can choose from.
Still on the fence? Don’t worry—all four plans come with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required.
It’s not all good news, though. In addition to the plans, you’ll also need to think about which add-ons you need. Quite a few great features (e.g., Scheduler) are pay-walled behind pricey add-ons that don’t come packaged with the base plans.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Highly customizable pipelines and fields Highly visual dashboards Massive selection of integrations Easy-to-use automation builder Extensive reporting capabilities Affordable paid plans 14-day free trial (no credit card required) |
No free plan for light users Automations not available on the Essentials plan The add-on system increases the cost dramatically No ticketing system and spotty customer support |
Pipedrive is one of the top sales CRMs for a reason—a few reasons, actually. It packs in a lot of features designed with sales teams in mind, and most features are executed well.
The only real downsides are the result of the company behind the product, not the product itself. If you can overlook them, you’re in for a great experience.
Overall, Pipedrive’s well worth considering if you’re shopping for a CRM—but it isn’t even close to the only option.

Pipedrive helps me organize all my daily activities in one user-friendly interface.
Some of the activity scheduling and checking activities off the to-do list can be cleaned up in terms of functionality.
Pipedrive is helping me stay productive and efficient.
Pipedrive easily integrates with many other programs and is easy to use.
The app interface doesn't really work the same way as the desktop so it has it's own separate learning curve in terms of finding out where things are
Pipedrive keeps our sales systems intact and allows our sales team to stay organized
The ease of use of Pipedrive is far superior than any other in the market
There is nothing I really dislike about the product, however, if I had to nitpick - it can have some downtimes
Pipedrive helps keep the sales data clean. It also helps manage pipelines and close deals.
Pipedrive is an innovative company that has a well-organized and robust CRM solution.
The system goes down occasionally, which can impact productivity, but they seem to be responsive when it happens.
We get a tremendous amount of organization with our extensive database. We can sort our leads and clients in many different formats.
It's very easy to create pipelines, move prospects between and within them, and keep track of contacts. It integrates well with Slack and Pandadoc (2 I have tried)
Nothing in particular. They actually have a pretty robust development team that is always doing consumer research and adding features depending on the feedback they receive.
I use Pipedrive to keep track of my prospects and what stages they are in. It allows me to see and average my sales cycle length and a great by-product is it provides a forecast depending upon the percentages that are loaded for each stage.
Easy to use. These features are very helpful for my work. Pipeline flow, contacts, sales insight/report and market integration. A weekly update on the new feature was received from the founder through email.
No basic free version is available. Pipedrive cannot be integrated with project management plaftforms.
None
PipeDrive has the easiest customer interaction user-interface. Setting up the deals, logging and seeing the flow is easy as 1-2-3. Linking multiple deals to the same organization is great if you know they'll have multiple revenue streams coming into the organization.
nothing so far that shows up on the radar from me using it for over a year now.
our organization uses it to follow the deal flow, and help with forecasting.
I love how simple the interface is to use, and the multiple features that are accessible, the Pipedrive support team are really helpful and knowledgable
Sometimes when we need to speak to a support team member via video or audio conference it can be hard as we are based in Australia, and the Pipedrive support team is based in Europe. So if it is in the afternoon we need to wait till the following day to talk to someone.
keeping track of our leads and deals and seeing what stage of the process they are all at has definitely allowed us to work more productively.
The number of fields you can customise is perfect for our type of business we also keep track of financial terms etc through this system
Sometimes there are faults with the system that can delay your working speed
We are managing to store lots of detail for our installations and projects.
The UI is very easy to navigate and reports are what every Sales manager would desire. The activity reminder helps Sales person to track activites very easily withough fail
The deals forecasting part could have been better.
We needed CRM where moving deals between stages should be simple and activity scheduling should be smooth. The pipedrive addresses these challenges where we can easily track activities of a Sales executive, if they are completing assigned task on time.
It helps in naming the stages based on the deals we take through. It also helps in focusing on the sales actions and tasks. It helps in scheduling plan activities and thus we can perform it accordingly in the right way
There's no such downsides as it's more effective and helps in getting engaged and achieving sales processes consistently
It helps in tracking processes towards goals. It also calculates our average conversion rate, which helps in the completion of activities and meeting targets. Real-time reports are the best
So here's a story, my client wanted to automate some of his work to be connected to other apps. The thing is I don't have knowledge using this Pipedrive CRM before, but after looking into it, I just got hooked and easily connected all the webhooks, automation, easy to create products and additional fields. I have successfully helped my client in their automation, I used additional fields which has some right data format to it. As well as we can have file attachments to it which also helped on our Dropbox integration. Pipedrive, is easy to use, it is organized with data that you want, it has person details, company, products even email replies on it!
The thing that I dislike about Pipedrive is that the webhooks are always triggered, even when me a web developer only changed one field of data inside of a deal it still triggers the whole webhook which is why I have to do some additional workarounds to pull it off.
Automation problems with video agency
Pipedrive is easy to set up, easy to use, and it has everything you need to manage a Sales pipeline and customer relationships, especially for smaller companies.
Back in 2017, the lack of integration capabilities with our ERP (Netsuite) was a problem for us. The same happened with our resource allocation system. There was no way we could make the systems talk to each other. Finally the Mobile experience for Pipedrive was very poor. I'm not sure how it is today.
We needed a way to manage the information that was generated during our sales process. We didn't have a "single source of truth" so there was usually misunderstanding among the sales team and the operations team. The minute we started using Pipedrive we could have a clear visual representation of the state of the sales pipeline. That view along gave us clarity and allowed us to predict instantly the upcoming needs in the operation.
Organized work performed by Pipedrive I really would recommend it to everyone
Nothing to dislike it is a good sales customer relationship management tool
Sales automation system Manage leads and deals
There is transparency across the entire organisation which is key to developing growth and promoting collaboration across the organisation It is also easily navigated
I dislike very little about this tool; it covers many avenues of data required in any organization
Primarily used for setting up deals for form set ups for club or any admin related issues with the system
Our process for taking applications, vetting potential students, and closing sales used to require several tools. Pipedrive helped us optimize this process.
It's a little bit complex because it can be used in so many different ways. So there was a little bit of a learning curve for our particular sales funnel.
We can easily track where prospects are in the sales process and help them move forward.
I'm a very visual person, and love the dashboard showing me what stage each lead is ins.
The cost! That's a joke. My CRM's are free when you're small. These guys charge you for 1 user after a short free trial.
Keeping track of my sales pipepline. It's does that while having very visual reminders of when tasks are due, what tasks need a new activity, and which are past due.
It is a very complete and friendly CRM, I really like its design and ease of use. I highly recommend it to clients who have no experience using CRM. Of those I have seen, it is the one that I liked the most
It is somewhat confusing when new leads are received because I think it needs a mailbox of leads so that they can be better distinguished and work from there without having to search the contacts section.
Personally, it helps me to work with prospects and manage them, but in reality the main use I make of it is with my clients who have no experience in using CRM since it is the one I recommend.
As a salesperson, the CRM is pretty intuitive for my role compared to other CRM's out there that have an overload of features I'd never put my hands on. I used Pipedrive when working freelance with a client, and I could jump in and get the hang of Pipedrive in less than 24 hours.
I did find that the contact records were a bit hard to navigate when using it. I recall when I'd be speaking with a customer on the phone and I had to dig to find the information I needed on the call.
Pipedrive was the CRM the company I worked with used. It made it easier to log conversations with potential clients, manage open deals, and track closed revenue for the business. It is a pretty straightforward CRM that I think works best with sales-led organizations. I wouldn't recommend this tool if you were a market looking for lots of bells and whistles.
