The three things I like best about Stripe Billing are: 1) The UI dashboard. Stripe has a full-featured web dashboard that I can use to manage all of the customer data, subscriptions, coupons, etc. Having to build this ourselves would have been very expensive and it's not the sort of thing you want to get wrong. 2) For devs: the API. Stripe has some of the best API documentation in the business, and there are a lot of third-party software options that integrate with it. 3) The mobile app. Similar to the web dashboard, though not as fully featured. The mobile app makes it easy to check in on things and do certain tasks.
The additional cost of using subscriptions on top of Stripe's fees is a little painful, but ultimately worth it in other ways (ease of use and reliability). There are probably some competitors to use where you could save some money, but you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it in the long run in terms of production and opportunity costs. I've also found that their live chat customer service isn't as good as it was years ago when Stripe wasn't as big as they are now.

I wish the rates would be lower when businesses use it for more extended periods. Other providers are out there, and I want a reward for loyalty. Also, it is petty that companies get charged processing fees when charges are made in error and reversed.

Stripe Billing is straightforward to implement and removes the headache of the periodic billing process. Implements wonderfully in the "Stripe Experience," providing excellent and well thought out APIs and 24/7 incredibly dedicated support with passion for what they do. The support is the best i have ever come across, and they treat you like you are a massive customer of them, regardless of your size, making you feel appreciated. They also offer some very simple statistics like MRR and similar in the dashboard, which is excellent.
Fees. Stripe Billing charges you fees on the full amount, even if you are earning 0$ by the customer using a coupon. This behavior has not been described anywhere, and I had to contact support to get it cleared up. Support figured it out fast, though.
I am now billing my clients every month via their payment card instead of getting paid slowly and often late through issuing standard invoices and sending them to the client.

Pretty high on the processing fees for the Indsutry, i did hear that you can negotiate your proccessing fees after you have done some business with them but i havent reached out to verify it yet.

I dislike not clearly knowing what their algorithm is for giving discounts for month-after-month large transactions. My understanding is they use some form of a matrix to decide if there are lower-level tiers for those that charge a lot... but there is no stated amount, and they will not tell you more than what I've said here.
I'm using Stripe with a custom shopping cart solution and their API is VERY developer-friendly. We're able to use this a lot quicker and with less development time than previous APIs.
