I am a QuickBooks for Contractors consultant and I recommend TSheets to all of my contractors. In addition to the savings on labor costs and GPS tracking - It eliminates tedious data entry of time sheets. Using TSheets eliminates billing and reporting delays, and has all of the features that contractors need. Every barrier my clients have presented in regard to mobile time tracking have been answered by TSheets. On top of all that, they have the best customer service of any company I've encountered. I can't recommend it enough.
There is nothing about TSheets that I dislike.
Time tracking for job-costing is essential, and without TSheets, tedious and inaccurate. TSheets is the most reasonably priced mobile time tracking app I've encountered that allows for job and item mapping, which is required for job-costing. Contractors often express frustration that their employees are in the field, and it's a challenge to keep track of them and keep them honest about the time they are actually working - TSheets GPS tracking resolves this nicely. Additionaly, many of my contractors ar challenged by employees who don't have smart phones or can't be trusted to enter their own time - TSheets has solved this issue on several levels - one of them being the "Crew app", which allows crew leaders to clock in and out their employees in seconds. TSheets has clearly gotten feedback from their clients about the features they need, and TSheets has definitely listened. I could go on for a while, but I'm out of space!
Thought it would be helpful to import straight to quickbooks, but it was riddled with problems that I have just been putting up with for a while now.
I am the admin and do not use quickbooks time except to run the payroll number 2 times per month. As a customer of tsheets since 2019, they would comp the admin charge since I was not using the account as an employee. When it changed to Quickbooks time, I was being charged a monthly fee of the appropriate amount, then it changed suddenly to a higher charge. Unfortunately, it took me 4 months to catch it.. On the phone with the Quickbooks time now, they are unable to refund this overcharge. This charge is ridiculous for me to pay just access this system, when I am not using it to log any hours. It is also abhorrent for a company to change their billing without informing the customer. Additionally the software pulled my personal email out of quickbooks and attached it to the quickbooks time account. Not knowing this had happened, I was unable to access quickbooks time when I needed it for payroll. Additionally this program has never linked well with quickbooks, regardless of exact wording of items, causing lots of manual time correction. I have spent an hour now with a your employee, who informs me that 1. no refund, 2. no compensation in the future for admins, 3. that I cannot speak with a supervisor, only speaking through her and her through a chat. This is the MOST ABSURD thing I have ever heard. You do realize there are free apps out there for time cards right? I believe you have lost a customer. I will be finding a new time card.
I have already attempted to solve the problem, they were not helpful in making things right.
1. Customer Support is AWESOME! Little to no wait time, support Reps are extremely knowledgeable, cheerful and answer questions and solve problems quickly. 2. In designing this software, the developers clearly have analyzed what their target customer (companies with up to 50 employees) need in a cloud timesheet product, and have made it their business to deliver exactly those features. 3. Computer interface is quick and easy to setup, and to add new employees. 4. Smartphone apps are so easy to install and intuitive to use that it cuts training time to an absolute minimum (especially when training an employee who doesn't speak English well). 5. The company actively recruits product improvement suggestions from its client base. 6. The TSheets - Quickbooks (desktop) software integration works quickly and flawlessly. Once time entries have been corrected, payroll is a breeze. 7. A large number of Add-Ons to customize TSheets. 8. Advanced Tracking allows tracking of mileage, expenses, equipment right on the timecard. 9. A wide variety of useful reports that can be quickly customized with easy-to-use filters, and downloaded in several formats.
Honestly, almost nothing. The only feature it doesn't have (that previous cloud timesheet product did have) is the ability to create 2 different overtime rules. Time in excess of 40 hours per week AND overtime for Sunday hours. Suggestion has been submitted to company.
Anyone who does payroll knows the most time-consuming aspects of the payroll cycle are (1) ensuring that the time punches can be captured by employees quickly, easily and accurately, and (2) quickly and accurately transferring the time punch data into the payroll program. TSheets excels at both of these functions, saving incredible amounts of time, money and frustration. Not every company needs to job cost payroll, but for remodeling, construction and other companies who desire job costing, TSheets works seamlessly with the job cost features in Quickbooks (desktop version). I have only used TSheet with Quickbooks, so don't have any experience with TSheets' integration with other accounting software.
I love that it has a feature that tracks where you are throughout the day and that it also allows you to track where your employees are without any of the extra hassle at all. It also records travel time for you which is great for people (like me) who struggle with keeping up with their travel time expenses. It has a maps system available in the app itself where you can see where you’d traveled and checked in- it’s unique and pretty awesome.
The worst thing I could say about TSheets is the price. I used the free trial then after that was paying the monthly fee for the use of it individually and honestly I think it’s a little too expensive. TSheets is in competition with other very similar software systems designed for time keeping and etc., especially ones that are cheaper. It didn’t take me long to find a better app that was cheaper once I got tired of paying the monthly fee of $14.99. If it were cheaper I would probably consider switching back.
Time keeping, travel mileage tracking and sharing my location with coworkers to minimize the time I spend billing hours and etc. for requisitions.
It is so simple to accurately manage our employees' time, both in the field and in the office. It lets us know the employee's location at the time they clock in, so no more attempts to get paid for time they were not actually on the job site. It also forces an accurate measure for job cost tracking because employees are not guessing at what time they switched from one location to the next. They simply open the app, press "switch" and select the job site they are moving to. And if they forget to record the switch, the GPS tracking shows me where they were throughout the day, so I can easily make corrections to their time. This is so much more efficient than the handwritten time sheets we once used. There are even places where they can leave notes and indicate that they are due mileage pay for the day. QuickBooks Time has simplified my payroll process drastically. Not to mention top-notch customer service. We have been using the program for about three years now and are still extremely satisfied.
There really is no downside that I can think of. The one thing that I would like to see happen is to have the program actually calculate the mileage from one job site to the next when the employee indicates that they are due mileage pay. With the integrated GPS, I feel certain that could be done.
When we used handwritten time sheets, the field employees would often forget to log their time until the end of the day or even end of the week when it was time to submit their time sheets. Then, they would submit timesheets based on a lot of guess work, and I did not have much confidence in the accuracy of the payrolls or the actual job costing. Since we implemented the use of the QuickBooks Time software, we no longer have those issues with accuracy. We also would sometimes have employees write down that they arrived at a job site earlier than they actually arrived or that they left the job site later than they actually left. With the integrated GPS tracking, that is no longer a concern.
Every time I need help (which isn't often) I get swift answers with a cheery representative! I love how they give specific instructions in case you're not familiar with them yet :) I usually use the chat function. It's great to see a profile picture of who I'm speaking with.
So far I haven't found anything overly annoying. I would like to see an automatic sync with QBO so it updates my customers.
Although I use Value Priced Billing for my cloud clients I am able to track how much time I'm actually spending on each client to see if I need to increase my fees. It has helped me see how much time I am actually spending on clients and how much I am dedicating to my practice. The reports are great to show me that!
It's been a long time since service knocked me off my feet. Just signed up for a free (FREE!) trial for TSheets and within 5 minutes Sydney called me to make sure that I was comfortable with all the features on the site. Perfect timing because I did have a brand-new-user question. Started loading my data and had another query so decided to use the Live chat feature (we all know how that can go). Tiffany answered in <20 seconds - not only is she completely fluent in the software, but she was also able to make me feel comfortable about my silly questions. Ruh-roh, I accidentally closed the chat window and had to start again, when I got Lauren. Lauren let me know that she was happy to help me but that Tiffany could also jump back on the transaction. TSHEETS how do you get these great people and what are these great systems you have to support them? Finally, when because of user error it took me a few (ok, 5) tries to correctly execute Tiffany's solution to my request, she made me feel like she had all day. All three of these service professionals used those magic words 'I understand', 'It happens, no problem' and actually told me that it was 'great that I was reaching out so soon!'. Have you ever felt better about yourself after calling for software support? You will when calling TSheets.
Can't think of a thing! Maybe that the software works too well and I won't get to call in or chat every day?
Tracking time as a consultant.
Ability to clock in-out on phone and to have job information recorded. Like job costing reporting for managing job costs .
There is nothing that I dislike at this time
